Band to Band Registration for the German Pushbroom Scanner Moms-2p

The Modular Optoelectronic Multispectral Stereo-Scanner MOMS-2P is collecting digital multispectral and threefold along track stereoscopic imagery of the earth's surface from the PRIRODA module of the Russian space station MIR since September 1996. The paper describes that part of the geometric in ight calibration which deals with the multispectral imaging modes to guarantee band to band registration. The procedure is based on DLR matching software and is restricted to nadir looking channels, which are read out simultaneously. From very many individual point matches between the images of the same area taken by the di erent CCD arrays the most reliable ones are specially subselected and used to calculate shifts with components in and across ight direction between the CCD arrays. These actual shifts are compared to the shifts derived from laboratory calibration. From the di erences camera parameters are estimated by least squares adjustment. Because of problems with the thermal control of the scanner, imaging was restricted to modes B (4 multispectral channels) and D (2 panchromatic stereo channels and 2 multispectral channels). For these modes a summary on the variation of the camera parameters is given.
